I have been using 0.5 mm beauty roller for a while now. I have seen pretty good result from it. I could feel my skin repairing itself after using it. My skin feels tighter. I am switching to this one because longer needles penetrate deeper and should have a stronger effect.

I have to admit that this hurts a little more than 0.5 mm beauty roller. It feels like rubbing sand paper on the face. I am going lighter with this one. The repairing effect is stronger. My skin feels tighter the next day. I have to stop applying makeup in the next 16 hours to allow my skin to heal. I soak it in 70% rubbing alcohol before and after use. I dry the roller with a hair dryer to speed up the drying. I roll in three different direction. I even roll it gently across my eye area because my eyes are getting more droopy with aging. It also helps my skin to absorb serum even better. My acne scars are fading as I am using a vitamin C serum as well. One thing that you have to make sure is to use a very good serum because it does penetrate much deeper and not every ingredient is designed to penetrate the skin. Some are supposed to sit on the skin while some are supposed to penetrate. So definitely do your research on the serum you are using along with this.

So far, the result is good but I do have to use this more cautiously. I am using this to prevent wrinkles and to prevent my pores from becoming larger. Huge pores can be due to aging as skin loses elasticity. I desperately need them to be under control so I don’t mind a little bit of pain. People usually go to a salon to get this done and spend a lot of money. I am actually saving a lot of money by doing this at home. This is something for people who can handle pain. I personally think it is worth it if I could stay young with this. I bought this at discounted price in exchange for my review.

Update 4-26-16: Company emailed me back saying you can get new needle roller replacements for this derma roller through their website. They also explained the reason for changing the product page by adding the 1.0 extra roller. They said; [We studied the market and realized that kits sell better, so we added another size of roller creating a kit] which I would agree. Most of us would want a derma roller kit that has both the 1.0 and the 0.5 roller needles where they would not have to buy two different derma rollers in the sizes they want. I would of like the kit but am still happy with what I got.

First I want to state that there is a new listing of this product which is slightly different from what I bought. I bought the same type of derma roller but mine only came with one 0.5 mm roller instead of both 0.5 and 1.0 mm rollers so I do not know how this 1.0 mm roller works. My review will be about the derma roller with only the 0.5 roller. This derma skin roller is a good quality roller. I like that this derma roller is not only packaged in a box but is also protected by a sealed plastic bag. It also is in a hard plastic container for storage and comes with a plastic cup to soak the needle roller part. It came with easy to understand instructions except explaining how to remove the roller from the handle but it was easy to figure out and all you need to do is pull down the blue sliding piece of plastic with a strong firm pull and it will separate but it is not easy or at least mine was not easy to separate. Also to put the roller back on, you must be very careful not to get poked by one of the needles by placing your fingers on either of the roller on the plastic and push down with a little force, which again for mine was not easy. I bought this to see if it could help with a few scars on my face from a dog bite when I was three years old but so far no results because results can take up to six months and sometime after I notice any good or bad results I will update my review. This is my first purchase of a derma roller so I research this product very thoroughly. The few things I like about this one is the packaging and the good instructions, the clear curved handle is not only pleasing to the eye but is also very comfortable to use and the smaller size of the roller where it can fit just fine along the nose and other smaller areas of the face. They say in the new listing; [ACNE SCAR REMOVAL tool kit of w/ 2 in 1 x 360º rotating and replaceable roller heads for Face (0.5 + 1.0mm x 600 mm) for massaging difficult areas to reach in your face.] Does this mean you can get replacement rollers or does this mean when you buy this set (which is not what I received) that you can replace the 0.5 mm roller with the 1.0 mm roller. I could not find any for sale for this derma roller from the company who sell this product, so I did contact the company and when I get a response back I will update my review. I will say that if you can get replacement rollers that would be a cool thing instead of buying the whole product again. On the paper where the instructions are there is a note about this derma roller having extra needles and about the needles diamond shape saying that it will lead to a less painful experience. But compared to others I have seen on the market, a lot of these derma rollers come with six hundred diamond shaped needles and this one looks like a lot of them for sale. I cannot say that it is the number one roller on the market but it is comparable to a lot of others that are coming out on the market. I would of liked the little bowl for cleaning the roller to either be connected to the plastic case where it could snap on the plastic case or where they supply a bag to put both items in so it was not a needed part that could be easily lost or misplaced. According to what I researched on this type of product this derma roller does work like it should and is easily cleaned. I depend on reviews myself when I order products and will only write an honest review with the knowledge that I have about a product. I am quite impressed with this derma roller. It is nice that it comes in a set of two, so you will definitely be able to use your rollers for months to come. They come individually boxed, which is an added bonus, so if you want to gift one, that’s definitely an option. I like the fact that these come with a hard plastic case for storage, and also a cup to use for disinfecting before/after use. Don’t skip that step!!!

Yes. Derma rolling can hurt. There. We’ve said it. However, the pain doesn’t last forever, and your skin is going to look amazing within a couple of days! My skin (24 hours from first usage) is only red on my nose, forehead, and chin. Everywhere else looks great!! I definitely recommend this product, just make sure to do your research before using it on your skin!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I am not going to lie, I was very afraid to try this product, even though I had done so much research prior to ordering it… When it arrived I just got nervous and I started more research on it and while I found so many legitimate academic dermatological journals that were touting the benefits of microneedling– I started finding scary websites and videos that either included a lot of blood or terrible adverse reactions. At first I thought maybe I should drink some wine before trying it to calm the nerves— THANK god I didn’t actually do that (alcohol increases bleeding first of all— and you should never mix alcohol with needles duh!) and so it sat in the draw another day. the next day I worked up the courage and decided to test in on my chest first. I did everything you’re supposed to do RUBBEd (not drank!) alcohol on my skin and on the roller it self and did the first roll while holding my breath… PAINLESS! phew what a relief. I then tried it on my face…and to my great relief it did not hurt much either. I followed it up with my insanely expensive skincueticals cream that is something like 150 dollars an oz so I could finally get the bang for my buck and it went on nicely. My skin did not bleed and did not look swollen or flakey. This morning I made sure I put lots of moisturizer and sunscreen on but no adverse effects whatsoever. The thing about this micro needling rollers is that results are not instantaneous ! It takes time! So I am giving this five stars not because its miraculously improved my skin but because its a great price for a nicely made, clean, sturdy and safe device that worked and was painless. Im sure that its a matter of weeks before I see results but luckily this experience was very good and comforting and I know i can handle it!

After receiving it, I wanted to try it for awhile but the idea of rolling tiny needles on my skin seems scary and made me postpone for a while. When I finally tried it, it wasn’t bad at all. No blood and a little bit of discomfort, but doable for me. Maybe I didn’t push hard enough? but it didn’t say I push hard until feeling the pain to make it work. 😉

I wanted to see the result first on small spots before applying to the whole face, so I applied on my wrinkled forehead and both of my cheeks with sun damaged dark spots. The dark spots don’t seem to fade away but the wrinkles on the forehead seem less noticeable. After application of the roller, I put a plenty of c serum and it seems more moisturized than without using the roller.

I like the small cup come with the roller. I put some alcohol in it and cleaned the roller each time with it. Also, I used it to do the final clean up with warm water and soap in the small cup.

It is not difficult to use it, so I will be able to use it without any hesitation.
